ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR CLIENT NAMES MADE PUBLIC

Alexis Wright has been charged with tax evasion, violation of privacy and more than 100 counts of prostitution at her fitness studio and office. The men were accused of paying for sex from the 29-year-old instructor.

There was much debate over whether or not the names should be released, but some believe that while it may cause temporary pain for the families involved, if it were any other crime the names of the accused wouldn’t be kept secret.

Kim Ackley is a local real estate agent and is definitely pro-release of the names. She says, “What’s fair for one has to be fair for the other. The door can’t swing just one way.”

Wright was meticulous with keeping track of her business and her records showed that prostitution brought in $150,000 in business over an 18 month period, according to police. Residents of the seaside town were anxiously awaiting the release of names.

She has pleaded not guilty to 106 counts of prostitution, invasion of privacy and other charges. She was apparently not alone in her business misadventures. Mark Strong, Sr., from Thomaston, her business partner, insurance agent, and private investigator, has pleaded not guilty to 59 misdemeanor charges as well.

With a population of only 10,000, residents of the town were stunned by the news that a prostitution ring could possibly exist along with the old sea captains’ mansions and famous beaches.

Attorneys for two of the accused says that releasing the names will ruin the lives of his clients, even if the misdemeanor charges were dropped. Supreme Court Justice Thomas Warren denied the motion to block disclosure of the names.
